What Clients Are Saying:

  • "The 'focus' you taught her works so well, we can pass by men and instead of lunging and barking she doesn't even notice. Hymn is even good with my boyfriend in the house, he sees a future with her now!"

-Lauren L. and Hymn the pit mix

  • "Chris is very knowledgeable of dog behavior and very patient with his clients (both human and doggie). He makes himself not only available for scheduled lessons, but also for follow-up questions and phone calls. He is genuine and passionate about animal - handler relationships and I can tell his goal is to truly help and educate. He has been able to reassure me and offer endless problem solving solutions as my rescue dog and adopted cats adjust to each other."

—Katie M. and Rubby the pit bull.

  • "My [Teenage Daughter] has been spending so much time with Zuzu now that she's calmer and we know how to communicate with her. We got Zuzu to be her dog, and its great that they have a relationship now!"

—Ellie S. and Zuzu the husky

  • "Sending our Malinois puppy to board and train was a big decision, but Chris at Rubus K9 made it easy. From day one, he sent detailed updates with videos and photos, and we could see she wasn't just learning – she was thriving. She was also getting cuddles, playtime, and clearly enjoying herself. Chris welcomed us to visit so we could learn the training methods alongside her. When she came home, the difference was remarkable. "

-Stacy S. and Fives the Malnois.

  • "We took Hildy to Corner 16 restaurant and ate outside with her, AND 2 other dogs showed up. She did GREAT!!!!!"

    - Sheila R and Hildy the mastiff mix.

Training With Purpose

Hi, I’m Chris and I’m driven by the work of helping dogs and the people who love them thrive together. My background is rooted in training working dogs, including my own Search and Rescue K9. I have also guided dogs through the long recovery of severe spinal injuries. Teaching a dog to walk again after a broken back is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. It requires a level of patience and commitment that informs every dog I train today.

Whether I am helping a dog overcome deep-seated fear, resolving complex separation anxiety, or refining a companion’s reliability, your dog receives that same dedicated focus. If a dog can be taught to navigate a disaster site or regain their independence after an injury, they can be taught to thrive in your home. I don't just manage behavior. I build the real confidence and clear communication required for your dog to perform in any environment.

The result is deep trust in the dog you love, clarity of communication, and a relationship you and your dog deeply enjoy.
